WAScheduler Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This policy applies to the WAScheduler Chrome extension distributed through the Chrome Web Store and any in-product notices that reference this policy. It does not govern third-party websites or services, including WhatsApp, Meta, Google, or any other services you access separately.

2. Information We Handle

WAScheduler handles information only where needed to provide scheduling features, interact with WhatsApp Web, keep the user interface working, preserve your local settings, and diagnose extension stability.

• Scheduled message data you create, including message text and formatting, poll questions and options, attachment metadata and file content you choose for scheduled delivery, schedule time, recurrence rules, retry settings, cancel-on-reply settings, task status, timestamps, and failure reasons.
• Recipient and WhatsApp Web context, including recipient names, display names, phone numbers, WhatsApp IDs, chat IDs, group or channel status, related chat identifiers, contact list entries returned by WhatsApp Web while you use the scheduler UI, avatar URLs when exposed by WhatsApp Web, and incoming-message metadata needed for cancel-on-reply matching.
• Cancel-on-reply uses message metadata to match the sender with pending tasks. WAScheduler does not need to store the body of incoming WhatsApp messages for that feature.
• Local preferences and extension state, including selected language, task and template records needed for the calendar, agenda, sidebar, and contact drawer, Chrome alarm state, tab state, and browser notification state.
• Device, browser, and locale context, including browser language information used to select a supported interface language.
• Product usage and diagnostic logs sent to Alibaba Cloud Log Service, including event ID, event description, event source, event time, result type, feature key, entry source, extension version, generated extension instance UUID, install time, language, browser user agent, platform, browser type, WhatsApp number or user ID if available in local extension storage, diagnostic flags, error type, error name, error message, and failure reason.
• Diagnostic logs are used to understand feature usage, diagnose delivery failures, and keep the extension compatible with browser and WhatsApp Web changes. They are not intended to upload scheduled message bodies, attachment file contents, contact lists, or WhatsApp chat history.
• WAScheduler does not currently collect WAScheduler user account credentials, payment processing data, license activation codes, subscription entitlement checks, cloud backup or cross-device sync records, advertising profiles, third-party marketing analytics, AI processing data, CRM sync data, or user-configured webhook delivery data.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to operate the scheduling features and maintain the extension.

• Create, edit, duplicate, delete, and display scheduled tasks and templates.
• Send scheduled WhatsApp Web messages, attachments, and polls selected by you.
• Run one-time and recurring schedules through Chrome alarms.
• Retry failed sends within the retry window you select.
• Cancel pending scheduled messages when a matching recipient replies, if you enable that option.
• Open, focus, reload, or create WhatsApp Web tabs needed for the scheduler.
• Show browser notifications about scheduled send results and errors.
• Load compatibility configuration for WhatsApp Web DOM selectors so the UI can keep working after WhatsApp Web changes.
• Localize the extension interface.
• Send limited telemetry and diagnostic logs to Alibaba Cloud Log Service for product stability, feature usage measurement, and error troubleshooting.
• We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your scheduled messages, contacts, attachments, WhatsApp data, or telemetry logs for third-party advertising.

4. Permissions and Network Access

The extension may request Chrome permissions and host access needed to provide its scheduling workflow.

• storage: save scheduled tasks, templates, metadata, and local extension state in Chrome extension storage.
• alarms: trigger scheduled delivery and retries at the times you select.
• tabs: find, open, focus, reload, or create WhatsApp Web tabs needed to display the planner and send scheduled messages.
• notifications: show local browser notifications about sent, failed, retrying, or cancelled tasks.
• unlimitedStorage: allow local storage of scheduled tasks and user-selected attachments without Chrome's small default quota blocking core scheduling features.
• https://web.whatsapp.com/*: display the extension UI in WhatsApp Web, read the active chat and contact context, and send messages that you schedule.
• https://cdn2.waplus.io/*: fetch a small remote configuration file containing WhatsApp Web DOM selectors. The extension does not need to send scheduled message content or attachments to this configuration endpoint.
• https://us-west-1.log.aliyuncs.com: allow Alibaba Cloud Log Service to receive product usage and diagnostic logs for the extension.
• https://fonts.googleapis.com and https://fonts.gstatic.com: load Google Fonts for content UI styling when used. Google may receive standard browser request information when fonts are requested.

5. How Information Is Stored

WAScheduler is designed as a local-first extension. It uses chrome.storage.local for tasks and templates, IndexedDB for attachment file blobs, and page localStorage for language preference. These stores are local to your browser profile unless your browser or operating system syncs, backs up, or otherwise copies browser data outside the extension's control.

6. How We Share Information

We disclose user data only as described in this policy, as directed by you through use of WhatsApp Web, or when required by law.

• WhatsApp Web and Meta: scheduled messages, attachments, polls, and related delivery actions are sent through WhatsApp Web. WhatsApp and Meta process WhatsApp usage under their own terms and privacy practices. WAScheduler is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by WhatsApp LLC or Meta Platforms, Inc.
• Alibaba Cloud Log Service: telemetry and diagnostic logs are sent to Alibaba Cloud Log Service at us-west-1.log.aliyuncs.com, project extension-us, logstore wscrm-extension. Log data may include event type, timestamps, feature key, result type, generated UUID, install time, extension version, language, user agent, platform, WhatsApp number or user ID when available, and diagnostic fields. We do not permit Alibaba Cloud to use this data for its own advertising.
• Remote configuration host: the extension may request a configuration file from cdn2.waplus.io for WhatsApp Web compatibility. This request is not intended to upload scheduled messages, attachments, contact lists, or message history.
• Google Fonts: if the Google Fonts stylesheet is loaded in WhatsApp Web, the browser requests fonts from Google-operated domains. Those requests may include standard technical information such as IP address, user agent, and referrer according to Google's practices.
• Legal, safety, and business transfers: we may disclose information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, regulation, legal process, governmental request, or to protect rights, safety, or security. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, we will provide notice and continue to protect personal information consistent with this policy or notify you of changes.

7. International Transfers

WAScheduler primarily stores scheduling data locally in your browser. However, when the extension or page requests remote resources such as WhatsApp Web, the remote selector configuration file, Google Fonts, or Alibaba Cloud Log Service, those providers may process request information in regions outside your country of residence. Log ingestion for WAScheduler is configured for the us-west-1 Alibaba Cloud region. We rely on appropriate safeguards where required by applicable law.

8. Retention

Retention depends on the data category and where it is stored.

• Scheduled tasks and templates are stored locally until you delete them, they are removed after successful non-recurring delivery, or you uninstall or clear extension data.
• Recurring task records are stored locally while needed to create future occurrences, until the recurrence ends or you delete the task.
• Attachments are stored locally in IndexedDB until the related task or template is deleted, no longer references the attachment, or extension data is cleared.
• Failed task status and failure reason are stored locally so you can review, retry, edit, or delete failed tasks.
• Language preference and local UI state are stored locally until you change them, clear browser data, or uninstall the extension.
• Telemetry and diagnostic logs in Alibaba Cloud Log Service are retained for approximately 7 days, then automatically deleted according to our Alibaba Cloud Log Service configuration, unless a longer period is required for legal or security reasons.

9. Security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect extension data, while recognizing that no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

• Tasks and templates are stored using Chrome extension storage on your device.
• Attachments are stored in local IndexedDB on your device.
• Remote resource requests use HTTPS where applicable.
• Telemetry is transmitted to Alibaba Cloud Log Service over HTTPS/TLS.
• Access to cloud logs is limited to authorized personnel under access controls.
• The extension requests access only to the host permissions declared for WhatsApp Web and the compatibility resources described above.
• Local browser data can be affected by device compromise, browser profile sync, backups, or other software on your device.

10. Your Choices and Rights

Because WAScheduler does not currently maintain user accounts or cloud-stored scheduled message records, most task access and deletion actions are performed locally in your browser. Clearing local extension data does not automatically delete diagnostic logs already sent to Alibaba Cloud Log Service.

• Local tasks: you can delete scheduled messages, templates, and related attachments in the extension UI.
• All extension data: you can remove local extension data by uninstalling WAScheduler or clearing Chrome extension storage or site data.
• Cancel-on-reply: you can leave this option disabled for tasks where you do not want the extension to listen for matching incoming-message metadata.
• Attachments: you control which files are attached to scheduled messages.
• WhatsApp account data: WhatsApp messages and account data handled by WhatsApp are governed by WhatsApp's own controls and policies.
• Telemetry requests: you may contact us to request deletion or export of server-side diagnostic logs tied to your extension UUID or WhatsApp number, subject to verification and legal exceptions.

11. Children's Privacy

The extension is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through WAScheduler, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect product, technical, or legal changes. We will revise the Last updated date and post the updated policy at the same URL used for the Chrome Web Store listing or other product notices. If WAScheduler later adds cloud sync, accounts, AI features, CRM integrations, licensing servers, or external webhooks, this policy should be updated before those features are released.
